Possum vs Opossum

Although most Americans say "possum", the animal they are usually referring to is called an "opossum". There is an animal called a "possum" but it lives in Australia."
I put in the apostrophe to let the reader know that Ryan was using the abbreviated form of "opossum" (regardless of whether or not that was his intention)
