Jacob Sirof was born and raised in San Francisco, California during the "Comedy Boom" of the 1980s.
There were few places more booming than San Francisco, so nobody was too surprised when Jacob announced at an early age that he wanted to be a comedian when he grew up. Today, Jacob still hasn't grown up, although he is a comedian. As a young adult, he started doing stand-up in his hometown, and quickly joined the ranks of a promising young crop of local talent, which has since been dubbed "The New Wave" of San Francisco comedy. In 2006, Jacob was selected to perform at the prestigious "Just For Laughs" comedy festival in Montreal, Canada, where he got very drunk and high with comedians and industry-types from all over the world.
His television appearances include "Live At Gotham" on Comedy Central and "Down and Dirty With Jim Norton" on HBO. He has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, as well as the Hollywood Reporter, and performs across much of the known galaxy. Jacob currently resides in the Gungan city of Otoh Gunga.
He would like to do comedy for ever and ever, yet he is a mere mortal, and will most likely die someday.
Sirof is one of the most polarizing guests ever to appear on the podcast, illiciting strong responses (both positive and negative) from listeners for his arguably controversial views on the Prequels. Jacob states that he defends all 6 original movies equally, rather than specifically being a "Prequel apologist".
