Sitting behind the pilot's seat of an X-wing In the new movies most of the vehicles are in at least some capacity fully functional the switches and buttons all work and light up. And the screens have animations. And in the snub Fighters the cockpits go up and down controlled by experienced operators. But they don't go up and down unless the person in the cockpit the actor is holding a sort of 'deadman switch' with both hands. So it was hard for Noah as start to bang on the cockpit door because he had to hold down the switch while doing that. Noah's experience going on board the Falcon set.
