Tasha Robinson is a film critic for The Verge and general pop culture writer. Formerly Senior Editor at The A.V. Club and The Dissolve, she is also a podcaster doing The Next Picture Show as well as a freelancer at NPR and other sites.
Tasha grew up with limited access to movies, but a great deal of access to film criticism, and she voraciously read reviews while imagining a future where she'd get to actually see the movies she was reading about.
When she and her husband (SWM guest Bob Koester) saw Phantom Menace during its opening weekend, a perceptive little boy loudly shouted: "This isn't Star Wars!" during the opening titles, and had to be pulled from the theater by his father.
